  • 1 Part Erstwhile Espadin Mezcal
  • 1 Part Ancho Reyes Verde
  • ¼ Part Chamomile Syrup
  • 2 Dashes Orange Bitters
  • 2 Dashes Bogarts Bitters (or Angostura)


  • Shake vigorously with cracked ice. Serve up. Garnish with orange peel


This cocktail is smooth on the palate with a touch of creaminess, smoke, medicine, and spice. The creaminess can be adjusted by substituting the hard-to-find Bogart’s Bitters with more common Angostura.

A note on this marvelous glass. This is a stunning late 19th century Venetian art glass coupe designed by Murano house of Salviati. It incorporates blue criss-cross latticino/zanfirico strands trimmed in copper aventurine. Today, the art of making such masterpieces has been forgotten.
