SUNDAY ASADOS @ COLONIA VERDE
Colonia Verde is a Latin American-inspired restaurant in the heart of Fort Greene, Brooklyn. Their Sunday Asado series invites badass chefs and grill masters (not just from NYC, but from all over the world!) to take over their lovely Brooklyn backyard for one glorious, indelible Sunday afternoon.
Redolent with no-frills family-style BBQ. Conviviality. Neighbors. Scintillating Conversation. Friends old and new.
And plenty of imbibing, of course!
Chef Chris McDade, who runs Popina in Redhook, Brooklyn, will be manning the grill at the June 16, 2019 Asado at Colonia Verde.
Chris got his chops at Maialino restaurant. Now he combines that classic Italian schooling with his Southern roots! Needless to say, those of you coming to this Asado will be in for a real treat.
MEZCAL AND WINE OFFERINGS
Tamy Rofe, Co-Founder and Sommelier of Colonia Verde, will be unearthing and pouring gems from the restaurant’s treasure trove. So be ready to discover and taste some delicious natty wines.
Yuan Ji, Co-Founder of Erstwhile Mezcal, will be pouring small-batch artisanal mezcals from Oaxaca, Mexico. Including a couple gems from the Erstwhile line that were made from wild agaves: Cuishe, and Tepeztate-Tobalá Ensamble!
Word on the street is that Yuan will also bring a delightful mezcal cocktail involving fresh pineapple juice and homemade chamomile syrup.
